How’s your monetization strategy going? Have you begun linking to similar items, and making your images clickable? Today’s post is all about making your overall blog post more shoppable– from little things that are easily overlooked to tips that you may not have thought of before! I’ve put together a little checklist on the top tips you should know. Print them out, hang them on your wall, and follow them to a T when you are creating your daily blog posts! Dive in and make sure you are following this checklist to maximize your blog’s monetization.
- Include 10 or more links per post. The more links you post = the more sales you earn!
- Link to similar items within your post and allow your readers to shop and click on more options. For example, if you are linking to a black dress with pink flamingos printed on it but can’t find that exact same item anymore because it’s sold out or from a past season, you can link to, or create a widget around other flamingo-printed items.
- Create a group of category links, like categories of dresses. You can also link to a category of items. Say you’re blogging about a pink ruffled top; head to your favorite retailer and search for ‘pink ruffled top’ then create an affiliate link around that search.
- Everyone loves a good deal, and since sale links convert the best, you want to make sure to include links to lots of different price points. That way you also accommodate your entire reader demographic!
- Make your images clickable. I did a blog post all about this process. Read here for a refresh!
Two blogs that we love and that follow this checklist exceptionally well are The Beauty Department and J’s Everyday Fashion. Check them out and see how they optimize their blog posts. Can you spot all these tips on their blogs?
