Tell us a little about yourself?

Born in Wuhan, China, I moved to Beijing with my family and spent most of my adolescence reading, listening to rock n’ roll and making art. When I was 16 years old, I spent a year in Iowa as an exchange student. I then went on to become a literature major at Haverford College. Basically, I’m a nerdy punk weirdo who likes to dress up.
我出生在中国武汉，但是在小的时候便跟家庭搬到了北京，并且在北京度过了我的青少年时期。我的青春期是在阅读，摇滚和画画中度过的。当我16岁的时候，我去了美国小城作为交换生，并在之后赴Haverford College学习英语文学。总的来说，我就是一个奇怪的喜欢打扮的小朋克儿。
When did you start blogging and what made you want to start a blog?
你什么时候开始运营你的博客？是出于什么原因？
I started my personal blog six years ago. At the beginning, it was just a way to record my life and thoughts. After the publication of three books, I started working with my friend Ruhan to make this blog a fashion blog. She is a fun-loving girl from Chengdu, China. After we met during our internship at a venture capital fund in Beijing, Ruhan has taken on the business part of the Miss Gogowang blog. She only likes the Summer and is a BIG fan of Thai culture!
我在六年前开始做我的博客。在最开始的时候，我只是想用这个方式来记录我的生活。而在出版了三本书以后，我开始跟王想想合作，把这个博客做成一个真正的时尚博客。她来自成都，是一个很爱玩儿的姑娘。我们是在一个基金一起实习的时候认识的，她现在负责博客的所有商业合作部分。
So many bloggers have set goals to blog full time. Is this something you aspire to do?
很多博主想要把运营博客作为一份全职工作，这也是你的目标吗？

How did the evolution of Miss GogoWang come to be?
Miss GogoWang怎么发展起来的？
Ruhan and I want to build a lifestyle blog that’s dedicated to good words, pretty things, delicious treats, love, and friendship. Although we’ve only been doing it for one year, it has received popularity from modern Chinese women on multiple Chinese social media websites. Miss Gogowang is not just me myself, it is someone who we all aspire to be: someone who loves and is loved in her/their own very natural, beautiful body.
我们想将这个博客献给在创造未来的读者们。生活不需要很奢侈，就像维纳斯不一定要穿裘皮。我们推荐平价而设计感强的独立设计师服装，有意思的观点，还有严肃而不装逼的文学和电影。
How do you stay true to yourself while continuing to evolve and be relevant in the blogger community?
你怎么在保持自己的时尚态度和发展你的博客商务的同时，跟全球博主社群保持相关性？
I still read a lot, both in Chinese and in English. I also go on Instagram once in a while to check out other bloggers. But for me, being distant from the rest of the world is more important than being part of it.
我仍然读很多书，中文英文都读，有时候我也会上Instagram。但是对我个人而言，离世界有距离还是很重要的，甚至比融入这个世界更加重要。
How has your style and blog evolved since starting your blog journey?
从你建立自己的博客至今，你的博客和个人风格有什么样的演变和提升？
I think my style has definitely become more versatile and eclectic. I used to be just a girl who loves to dress up. But now I think that I look at myself as a visual art project. Ideally, there is always a story behind an outfit.
我觉得我的风格越来越多遍了。我曾经只是一个穿搭爱好者，现在我将自己看作是一个视觉艺术项目。每一套搭配背后都应该有它的故事。
Do you have any fashion or lifestyle bloggers you admire and follow yourself?
谁是你的时尚偶像？你最欣赏的时尚/生活博主是谁？
I gain inspirations from books, art pieces, and travels. I don’t have an all-time style icon, but I’ve been obsessed with the ’70s punk rock/heavy metal style when I was a teenager. I don’t think I have a favorite blogger.
我从书，艺术，和旅行中得到灵感。我没有一个一直以来的时尚偶像，但是我一直很喜欢70年代的朋克／金属风格。
Any advice for bloggers on networking or pitching themselves for a project who aren’t so comfortable with it?

Just be yourself. There are so many people who want to fit in and be someone else. Do it your way.

Photography is a big deal for a fashion/lifestyle blogger. What kind of camera and lens do you shoot with?

I use my iPhone the most because it’s so easy to carry around. But otherwise, mostly my Fuji X-A2

As a fashion blogger, you get to wear some incredible brands. Which are some of your favorites?

My current favorite brand is this Chinese shoe brand called Nuogic. I love their unique designs and reasonable pricing.

What is a go-to look you’ll be wearing this Fall?

Hats! I’ve been so obsessed with hats lately.

What is the one thing most people would be surprised to know about you?

That’s such a hard one. I guess that I’m so crazy and nothing will really astonish them.

My favorite social platform is this Chinese indie website called Douban. My account name is my real Chinese name: Wang Houhou (王逅逅）

I went to the ShopStyle Social House during 2016’s Winter Fashion Week and it was so fun! I also like that there are an abundance of brands and items on the website.
