Looks and Collections are an integral part of your holiday strategy with ShopStyle, so be sure to utilize this post if you need a refresher on how best to leverage this tool.
Get to know what they mean:
Collection: A group of Looks you can add to your blog or website.
Look: A shoppable image.
In order to monetize your blog with these tools, you have to use Collections and Looks together.
Why you should use Looks and Collections:
- Generate more sales than with any other social tool: an average of 42% higher conversion rate on web and 59% higher conversion rate on mobile.
- Direct traffic back to your site. This tool allows you to drive all clicks from IG to your blog, instead of someone else’s website or email list.
- Make it easier for your readers to shop when you remove all barriers and make it an instant process.
Directions for Desktop:
Steps on how to create a Collection:
- Click “Create” on your user dashboard and then click on the “Collection” icon
- Name your Collection and click “Save” — for example “My Instagram Shop”
- Choose if you would like your Collection to display the retailer, price, or both
- Copy the embed code and paste it into the new page on your blog where you want your Looks to live
Steps on how to create Looks:
- Click “Create” on your user dashboard and then click on the “Look” icon
- Upload a photo
- Find the same or similar products from your image that you want to tag in your Look, hover over and then click “Add to Look”
- Click “Next” on the top right-hand corner of page
- Fill in the details for your Look — caption and hashtags; we use this info internally when we are looking for specific items to share with our channels.
- Select the Collection you want the Look to appear in and click “Finish”

Pro tips for strategizing with the Looks & Collections tool:
ShopStyle Shop Page: Great news: everyone has one! This is a feature we created for those that don’t want to embed a Collection on their blog, or those that prefer to work solely with Instagram or Facebook. Every time you create a Look, it goes into your Shop Page. You can direct your followers to your page link and easily monetize through your social channels. To find your Shop Page, add your username at the end of this url: https://www.shopstyle.com/collective/. Here is an example: https://www.shopstyle.com/collective/carlinah.
