Latest Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Updates

UPDATE: Nordstrom has informed us that all brand restrictions have been lifted for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! You may now promote all your favorite brands and you can turn brands back on for all Nordstrom Sale product widgets. (This includes titles, images, blog posts, social, etc.) 

There is no change to the current restrictions around boosting posts. You may boost posts that do NOT include Nordstrom trademarked terms in the title or content. You may use euphemisms like ‘best sale of the year’, etc.

Feel free to refer to the list below as newly approved brands as you begin to create new content!

Tips on how to earn more during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

  1. Early Access allows first pick of all items on sale before the general public. Use this as a call to action for your audience to shop now!
  2. Dive into your analytics from last year’s sale period (7/13/17-8/6/17) to inform your merchandising strategy. See what has performed well and get specific on what think your audience will like.
  3. Check out our exclusive Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Cheat Sheets with data on top performers from last year’s sale period + the last three months across ShopStyle Collective.
  4. Drop cookies now! Start (and keep) seeding your content with Nordstrom links so your readers are clicking and you get credit for their purchases.
  5. Call out Nordstrom sale items in various price ranges (e.g. Favorites Under $100). Last year’s average order value (AOV) during the Anniversary Sale was $168.
  6. The top sales-driving days from last year’s Anniversary Sale were: 7/13/17 (first day of Early Access), 7/21/17 (first day of Public Access), 7/20/17 (last day of Early Access), and 7/14/17 (second day of Early Access). Plan content in advance to cover equivalent days for this year’s sale.
  7. Look at customer ratings for items. The higher the rating, the more likely it is to convert. You can also make a widget like “Top Rated by Nordstrom Customers” or note it in your post.
  8. Make sure to utilize our “Sold Out Notification” tool. Don’t let your readers click on unavailable items throughout this sale as products will sell out quickly!
  9. Make sure you’re choosing products that have multiple sizes and colors (if applicable). If there’s only one XXS left in the product, make sure to call that out too. This is a great way to utilize captions under widgets as well.
  10. Provide as much added value to your audience as possible. What can you add to make your sale picks unique to you? Should they size up in that top? Do those jeans get a little stretchy after one wear? How long does it take to break in those Frye boots? Your audience will come to trust you even more and be more likely to convert.
  11. Tag #Nordstrom and #ShopStyle on all your social mentions and Looks shares so we then can share our favorite posts of yours!
  12. Take a look at what has performed well with Nordstrom the past few months. Put those products into a list and see what goes on sale. Then, put those products in a widget as your “best sellers.”
  13. Create multiple widgets for different categories (e.g. Boots for Fall, Must Have Denim, etc.) that highlight your top-converting categories.
  14. Create Looks with Nordstrom products and share them to your social channels. Don’t forget to turn your Looks into Shop the Looks Pins for even more coverage.
  15. Call out the beauty exclusives Nordstrom is offering this Anniversary sale, these are always a customer favorite and sell quickly!
