How to Use Looks + Best Practices

 

Looks are one of the most powerful tools on Collective. They enable you to easily monetize your social channels and allow your followers to shop all your outfits — all in one place.

Looks generate more sales than any other social tool, with an average 42% higher conversion on web and 59% higher conversion on mobile.

5 expert ways to leverage Looks:

1. Add a Shop My Instagram (or similarly titled) page to your blog to easily showcase your Looks. See below for a refresher on how to embed a Collection to this page.
2. Link to your Instagram Shop or your ShopStyle Shop in your Instagram bio. Encourage followers in posts and stories to shop your Looks via the link in your bio.
3. Link to individual Looks with the Swipe Up feature in Instagram Stories. When you’ve reached the sharing step of creating your Look in the Collective app, click “Copy Link and Share” to copy the URL to that Look.
4. Link to individual Looks in your Facebook outfit posts. On desktop, visit the Looks page of your Collective dashboard and click the “link” icon under your Look to copy the URL.
5. Share your Looks to your Pinterest as Shop the Look pins. You can view specific analytics for Shop the Look pins on your analytics page.

Looks & Collections refresher:

• Look: A shoppable image that allows your audience to view and purchase products. Multiple Looks create a Collection.
• Collection: A set of multiple Looks. A Collection is embedded on your blog and will automatically update anytime you assign Looks to it.

How to embed a Collection on your blog:

1. In your account, click Create > Collection
2. Name your Collection so you can easily identify it when assigning Looks. Select if you want items in your Collection to display the Retailer or Price, and click Save
3. Click Copy Embed Code and embed the code in its entirety and without alteration onto your blog’s Shop My Instagram page.
4. Create Looks and assign them to this Collection, or assign already created Looks. You can create Looks before or after your Collection is made.

*Pro-tip:  We suggest having your Shop My Instagram page live on your blog’s main navigation bar for extra visibility.
