Amazon Policy on Counterfeit Items:

Amazon has released a new policy addressing dupes as they ramp up their efforts to fight against the selling of counterfeit products on their platform. You can learn more about their efforts on The Verge. Please read Amazon’s new policy below with guidelines for influencers. 

Amazon has shared their policy on counterfeiting: 
“Amazon strictly prohibits counterfeit or infringing products in our store and you can see our long-standing seller policy here. Content linking to Amazon should not use the words “dupe,” “fake,” or “faux,” in connection with a brand name or to knowingly promote counterfeit or infringing products. Please make sure you do not use these terms in your storefront or other content. We have clarified this in our Associates policies here. To recommend stylistically similar items with no intellectual property infringements you can use language like “shop the look.” Failure to abide by our policies may result in account closure and other legal consequences.” 

Instead of using these words in your content:

• “Dupe”, “fake”, “faux”

Use instead, when posting stylistically similar items:

• “Shop the look”, “Get the look”, “Inspired by”, “Similar to”

Please ensure that you adhere to Amazon’s policy for all future posts and refrain from posting dupe content. In addition, we strongly recommend that you review and update any content that you have previously posted that could be in violation of this policy. Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in losing the ability to monetize with Amazon affiliate links through Collective Voice.
