17 Tips for Nordstrom Anniversary

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is comin’ in hot, and we want to help you make the most of it! Now is the time to start thinking about how you will share content for this one-of-a-kind sale.

1. Dive into your analytics from last year’s sale period (7/12/18-8/5/18) to inform your merchandising strategy. See what has performed well and get specific on what think your audience will like.

2. Check out our exclusive Nordstrom Anniversary Sale In Review reports for data on top performers from last year’s sale period + our Nordstrom What’s Trending report for data on top performers from three months across ShopStyle Collective.

3. Drop cookies now! Start seeding your content with Nordstrom links so your readers are clicking and you get credit for their purchases. Nordstrom has shared that their cookie window is 14 days.

4. The top sales-driving days from last year’s Anniversary Sale were:

5. Encourage followers to Favorite the items they want now so they can receive an alert if the price drops on their items during the Anniversary Sale.

6. Call out Nordstrom sale items in various price ranges (e.g. Favorites Under $100). Last year’s average order value (AOV) during the Anniversary Sale was $206.

7. Look at customer ratings for items. The higher the rating, the more likely it is to convert. You can also make a widget like “Top Rated by Nordstrom Customers” or note it in your post.

8. Early Access allows first pick of all items on sale before the general public. Use this as a call to action for your audience to shop now!

9. Make sure to utilize our Sold Out Notification tool. Don’t let your readers click on unavailable items throughout this sale as products will sell out quickly!

10. Make sure you’re promoting products that have multiple sizes and colors (if applicable). If there’s only one XXS left in the product, make sure to call that out too. This is a great way to utilize captions under widgets.

11. Provide as much added value to your audience as possible. What can you add to make your sale picks unique to you? Should they size up in that top? Do those jeans get a little stretchy after one wear? How long does it take to break in those Frye boots? Your audience will come to trust you even more and be more likely to convert.

12. Tag #Nordstrom and #ShopStyle on all your social mentions and Looks shares so we then can share our favorite posts of yours!

13. Create multiple widgets for different categories (e.g. Boots for Fall, Must Have Denim, etc.) that highlight your top-converting categories.

14. Create Looks with Nordstrom products and share them to your social channels. Utilize Instagram Swipe Up and/or your Link-in-bio for added exposure.

15. Brands and categories often have different commission rates. Stay up to date on all Nordstrom Special commission offerings here.

16. Linking to categories as opposed to single products will also help drive conversion!

17. Catalog items are a safe inventory bet, so use these products for longer term placements in your content!

    I have Ambassador status and am able to shop the sale now but i cant get the links from the sale through shopstyle, how do i enter my card info??
