Twenty Something Plus #CreatorStory
Q: Tell us your story of how you got started?
A: I actually got into blogging after connecting with other style-minded women on Poshmark. But once I found out about blogging and social media, I wanted to learn as much as I could and share what I was wearing and what I was shopping.
Q: How do/did you navigate being a person of color wanting to become an influencer?
A: It’s unfortunate that it is the case, but I feel as though I’ve had to work twice as hard (if not harder) to accomplish certain milestones as an influencer because I’m Black. I try to put out quality content every single time I post, even when I see others who don’t have to work as hard posting whatever.
Q: How can your followers support some of your favorite black-owned businesses?
A: I believe in order to best support black-owned businesses we need to diversify how we shop. We should shop them more than just one month out of the year and incorporate their brands into our lifestyle, like we would with any other brand we support.
Q: What advice would you give someone that wants to become an influencer?
A: I would say that if this is what you want to do then do it. Just start! And stick with it. The resources are there.
