Holiday How-To: Instagram Strategy

With holiday season in full swing, it’s time to strategize and get your social media plan in order. Here are our top tips for a successful holiday season with Instagram.

  • Link In Bio: Swap the link in your bio to drive directly to your “Instagram Shop” page. This will cut down on the number of steps to get to your shop page, driving more traffic and more sales!
  • Looks & Collections: Create Looks for all of your original content to pull into your blog’s “Instagram Shop” page. Make it a goal that every photo you post has a corresponding Look. Check out our how-to guide here on creating Looks & Collections. 
    • Pro tip: Double check that you have syndication turned on for the chance to be featured on the ShopStyle site, blog, and social media!
  • Swipe Up: Use Instagram Stories to build engagement and sales with our “Swipe up” product page. You can also link directly to a Look or your latest blog post. Don’t have the “Swipe up” feature yet? Use a call to action in your Instagram Story that drives viewers to click the link in your bio.
  • Hashtags: Utilize hashtags for discovery and increased engagement on your posts. Include a few hashtags on each post and test which ones perform best for your audience, then optimize and use your top-performing hashtags. Another option? Add a hashtag block to your post! We’ve also added some top hashtags at the bottom of this post for you to include.
    • Pro tip: Looking to use hashtag blocks, but spending too much time making them? Save these blocks in the notes app on your phone to later copy and paste into Instagram when you are ready to post!
  • Roundups: Create a roundup as a Look or Instagram post featuring the items shown in your Instagram Story.
    • Pro tip: You can also feature roundups of your latest Instagram posts on your blog.
