It’s the holiday season and prime time to engage your followers on social. Best way to do that is to use hashtags! Besides the obvious like #MyShopStyle #PSGiftGuide use the key hashtags below to maximize views on your holiday content. Type these up and save these hashtag blocks in your phone then paste in the first comment of each new holiday piece for Instagram to rack up those likes and engaged comments!

Want to be featured on the ShopStyle Instagram feed? Create content from the themes below and tag with #MyShopStyle for a chance to see yourself or your content featured on our Instagram.
  • Home For The Holidays. We’re looking for home decor and holiday gathering photos! Snap a photo of your beautifully decorated Christmas tree, perfectly wrapped presents, festive tablescapes, sharing hot cocoa with your girlfriends, and more!
  • Statement Outerwear. Show us your favorite cold weather coats, jackets, and sweaters and how you are styling them. Think dusters, puffers, shearling, great colors (blush, forest green, etc), capes, toggle coats, and more!
  • Holiday Style. Do you have the perfect party outfit – from office parties to #NYE prep – we want to see it! We’re especially looking for outfits featuring velvet, cocktail dresses, embellishments, brocades, etc.
  • Shoes. Show off your winter lineup or a single great pair. We’re especially looking for boots (sock boots, over the knee boots, ankle boots) and heels.
  • Lounge Around. The holidays are the time to be cozy. Post a photo (or three!) in your cutest loungewear by the fire, the pajamas you plan to wear on Christmas morning, a stack of our favorite sweaters, etc.
  • Work It Out. With the New Year right around the corner, health and fitness are on our mind! We want to see the tastiest healthy meals (snap a pic while you’re out at brunch!), your favorite sneakers, activewear laydowns, and more.
  • Outfit Lay Flats. Great outfit? Lay it out on a neutral background to make your #OOTD pop!
  • New Years Eve. Get your sparklers ready and don’t forget to tag us in your photos. Cheers to 2017!

Tips For Being Featured

  • Snap a great photo. The best photo doesn’t always happen on the first try. Take a few and compare to find your best one.
  • Tag the brands. Don’t forget to share the details on where your #ootd is from.
  • Take a lay flat. We suggest limiting your lay flat to 4-6 items, those perform best. Find a neutral background (ex: wood floor, plain white bedspread, marble countertop, etc)
  • Get great lighting. Natural light is always your best bet! Can’t get outside or near a window? Overhead lighting or a floor lamp will work in a pinch.
  • Looks & Collections. We love to know the pieces you feature in your photos. Create a Look using your Collective account to share the products.
  • Watch your filtering. Filters can be your BFF, just be careful altering your photo too much. Keep in mind, filters should enhance your picture, not change it completely.
  • Tag us! We can’t see your amazing pics if you don’t tag us. Make sure to tag @shopstyle (in the caption and the photo) and hashtag #MyShopStyle so that we can check out your amazing style. Can’t wait to see your photos!
