It’s a great time to start putting a strategy for your blog into place for the holidays. It’s no secret that your readers look to you and trust your opinion on what’s trendy this season. There are so many resources on ShopStyle to help you monetize your favorite looks, products, gift guides, and more!

Here are some ShopStyle tools you should familiarize yourself with this holiday season.

  • Widgets
    Widgets are a great way to entice your readers to shop your blog through images of the products featured in your blog post. There are two types of widgets on ShopStyle:

    • Sidebar widgets are a great way to showcase your favorite seasonal items on the front page of your blog. Just follow these simple instructions!
    • Traditional widgets are perfect for beginners. Check out this article to help you create and place a widget into a blog post.
  • Using the LinkIt Tool
    Is the LinkIt tool in your browser bookmarks yet? If not, we promise it will be your new BFF. Not only is it a timesaver, but you can use it to create affiliate links directly from retailer websites, add items to a widget, or just instantly share items across your social media channels. Follow these instructions to get started.
  • Setting up a Sale Alert on popular or most-loved items
    Constantly wearing your beloved Rebecca Minkoff purse across your blog and social channels? Why not set up an alert through ShopStyle so you know when it goes on sale? Once the price drops, blog about it so your readers can get in on the deal! Here are the step-by-step instructions.
  • Emoticode everything
    Monetize your Snapchat and Instagram with Emoticode. Emoticode is the newest way to make photos on Instagram and Snapchat linkable. An Emoticode is a hidden URL using emoji and alphanumeric characters in captions or comments. Get started here.
  • Creating gift guides
    This one’s a no-brainer! Be sure to create plenty of gift guides on your blog using our Looks tool. You can make themed gift guides, but we suggest always using at least 15 shoppable products. Here are some suggestions to get you started: stocking stuffers, gifts for men, gifts for sisters, gifts under $50, etc. The more you create, the more money you earn. There’s no deadline, but the sooner the better for SEO reasons. Be sure to tag #PSGiftGuide so your gift guides can be featured on POPSUGAR and ShopStyle social channels.
