Amazon Prime Day is rapidly approaching (October 13-14!) and we’re here to make sure you’re primed and ready to go!
In this post you’ll find key information, tool tips to maximize earnings, and strategies to start planning your content to make sure you are set up for success. Continue to check back on this blog post for the most up to date information.
Prime Day is Amazon’s biggest annual deal event exclusively for Prime members. Prime Day will go live on October 13th and last through October 14th for two days of epic deals! With over 175 million products sold during Prime Day 2019, and 71% more in sales than 2018, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
To help you make the most of it, our ShopStyle Collective experts are here with tips on managing Prime Day sales across your channels.
- Dive into your analytics from the past 90 days to see what’s performed well, then share products you know your audience is likely to shop.
- Check out our exclusive Amazon Insights report for data on top performers across ShopStyle Collective in the last 90 days.
- Keep categories and brands in mind! Refer to our Amazon Special Offers page for information on all the commission rates for fashion, home, beauty and more.
Remember that many retailers, including Amazon, are experiencing high demand and low stock for essential items during this time and have requested for influencers to please refrain from posting essential goods such as toilet paper, hand sanitizer, disinfectant sprays and wipes, gloves, etc.

- Start linking to Amazon even before the sale begins to increase your earnings potential!
- All you need to do is create and share links to Amazon (Create Short Links with LinkIt) to start dropping cookies and increase your earnings during Prime Day.
- Pro tip: Check your popular or trending posts and create similar content for Prime Day by adding Amazon links to your original, shoppable content.
- How does this work? Retailers use cookies to remember things like a shoppers shopping cart, or what link (like your affiliate link!) led the shopper to their site. When their site remembers your affiliate link, you earn. Amazon has confirmed their cookie window for Prime Day 2020 is 24 hours, however the shopper has 90 days to buy the item for you to still receive credit!)
- Encourage your followers to Favorite products in advance so they’ll receive alerts if the prices drop during Prime Day. For more about Favorites, visit our Learning Center.
- Be direct and educate your audience. You can say, “Click on the images below to shop! Waiting for something to go on sale or just want to buy it later? Simply click the heart icon and enter your email address. You’ll receive a confirmation e-mail (to shop products you favorite anytime from your inbox) and another e-mail when the price drops!”
- We love this tool because it allows you to collect blog visitor’s email addresses to help grow your audience!
- Create themed shopping experiences
- Use Product Widgets for specific categories, gift guides or product roundups tailored to what your audience likes, e.g. “cozy at home favorites” or “mommy must-haves”.
- Tool tip: Use LinkIt on Amazon.com to add items to Lists. Lists can be quickly turned into individual affiliate links, product widgets, or Looks and are stored in your account under Lists for easy reference any time.
- Social media is a great way to promote deals that will expire quickly.
- Use your Instagram bio to link out to your ShopStyle Shop in your Instagram bio. The Looks you upload throughout the day will stay within easy reach of your followers and you’ll never need to refresh the link–your Looks will all be included within that single link.
- Learn about your ShopStyle Shop here (it’s auto-created for you and hosted on shopstyle.com!)
- Helpful tip! Anytime a shopper clicks on your link is prompted to open up the Amazon app to proceed–your affiliate link will still track when they go to the app.
Stay in the loop on what’s trending to better inform your Prime Day content strategy and help you drive more sales.
